Workshop “The Partnership for Peace Programme – Opportunities for Serbia”
The Youth Dialogue Programme and TransConflict Serbia are pleased to announce a call for applications for the second in a series of workshops exploring various NATO-related themes, aimed at young professionals from a variety of backgrounds.
The workshop, entitled “The Partnership for Peace Programme – Opportunities for Serbia”, which is again supported by Jagello 2000 - Association for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation, will take place in Fruška Gora from 14-15th November.
The purpose of this series of workshops is to stimulate broader debate on and deeper understanding about Serbia’s current and future relations with NATO, particularly amongst young professionals from a variety of backgrounds. The other planned workshops, which will be organised throughout the course of 2009 and into 2010, will explore a variety of topics, including energy security, regional experiences of NATO accession and operations, security sector reform and NATO's relations with the EU and Russia.
The initial workshop, entitled 'The Evolution of Collective Security: NATO in the 21st Century', which took place from July 26-27th, involved speakers from a variety of organizations, including NATO's Public Diplomacy Department, the Centre for Civil-Military Relations, Club 21, the Faculty of Security Studies and Jagello 2000 - Association for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation.

The workshops will also contain a skills-building element, designed to strengthen each participant's capacity to communicate more effectively the benefits of collective security. These modules will include contact skills, such as communication, negotiation and facilitation, 'framing' information and decisions, risk comparisons and the persuasive use of facts.
This programme is conceptualised so as to serve as a platform for the development of future leaders and security experts, who will increasingly be involved in discussions about Serbia's future within a Euro-Atlantic collective security environment.
If you are interested in participating in the second workshop, please send a copy of your Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English to office@transconflict.com by Friday 30th October. As the workshops will be conducted in English, please state clearly your level of English language comprehension.
Should you require any further information regarding this event, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you in due course.
